DTU Award for Developing Teaching and Learning

As decided by DTU’s Executive Board, an Award for Developing Teaching and Learning was established in 2016.

The award acknowledges an individual teacher, or a team of teachers, who has made a systematic and extraordinary effort to develop learning, teaching, and education at DTU. The award is bestowed annually at DTU Seminar for Teaching and Learning in the fall.

The award is a travelling scholarship of 25.000 DKK to be spent on activities that support the winner’s further teaching development – e.g. participation in relevant conferences, study trip, or retreat with a focus on developing teaching material or writing a paper. Furthermore, the winner’s department will receive a physical prize (like a sculpture) to be hosted for a year, until the next award-giving.

Objectives

The award is granted to teachers who have made a special effort to initiate, investigate, document, and share experiences about development of their teaching and their students’ learning. The objectives are to encourage DTU teachers to systematically and continuously investigate how various teaching methods support their student learning, to make special efforts to develop teaching and learning methods at DTU visible, and hereby to support the ongoing enhancement of the quality of teaching, learning and education at DTU.
