Supervision of large projects at DTU

Supervision of large projects is an essential part of the teaching activities at DTU, and accordingly, quite an effort is put into supervision. The aim of this course is to strengthen the supervision of large projects as a teaching activity at DTU and provide some tools to make the supervision more effective.

In this course, supervision will be treated within the context of teaching and learning in higher education and we will discuss roles, methods and quality in supervision. The starting point of the course is the experiences and challenges which the participants have as supervisors. During the course you will get some tools to strengthen your supervision practice, like supervision contracts and methods for group supervision. The course focuses on supervision of large projects like bachelor and master projects. 

Target group
Teachers at DTU which are or will be supervising large projects 

After this course you will be able to:

  • Clarify the roles of the supervisor and student in the supervision 
  • Conduct supervision more effectively 
  • Match the expectations from your students and your expectation to the students, both regarding process and product
  • Integrate different tools in supervision
  • Make a memorandum of understanding to your students 
  • Gather and systematize experiences and tools in supervision

½ day workshop followed by peer feedback using Peer Grade.

Practical information
The course is taught in English - if there are non-Danish speaking participants.
For participants enrolled in the UDTU-programme and DTU employees, the workshop is free.
For others the fee is DKK 1.000.
Full fee is paid if a cancellation is made later than 2 weeks before the start of the course.
